Scotland and European connectivity

Round about 2009 I went to a seminar at the Lighthouse where various members of the design community spoke about the importance of Creative Industries to the Scottish economy. I remember being particularly starstruck by Deyan Sudjic, who was predictably good. However, what really stuck with me was a slide in a presentation given by the architecture firm DEGW indicating the travel threshold from Paris by air and by rail. The point being made was that Scotland is out-with the reach of the ‘day business trip’ from the majority of Europe. I must have had the presence of mind to pinch the slide at some point…
